About :: voice output

Audio format
Text to speech output is done using the swf format (Macromedia Flash). The appropriate plugin is installed by default in all common browsers. If you don't hear anything, then it could be disabled by your administrator.

Sound quality and alternative audio format
If you click on the link "Open WAV file" (below the input field on the previous page) the voice output will be played using your computer's default media player. The sound quality will be better because the wav format is less compressed. This should also work if flash is disabled on your computer.

Credits / Acknowledgements
German text processing is done using Hadifix and MBROLA, English text processing uses a modified version of flite. Conversion from wav to swf is done using swftools. Thanks to all developers, especially Matthias for his help.
